Welcome to Broken Cabaret

Broken Cabaret is a company that makes theatre. Work is chiefly built and devised by writing team Simon Arrowsmith and John Myatt.

The company is interested in exploring writing and performance that deals with themes of identity and social connection.

Recent work includes Something Something Lazarus, a darkly comic musical about the healing power of performance and finally letting go of the past. The show, previously called Richard the First, has just received its UK premiere in a four week run at The King’s Head Theatre in Islington, London.

Other recent work includes the one act play Needle Work. This was commissioned by South Hill Park as part of their celebrations of 10 years of Civil Partnerships. Both pieces were directed by Dan Phillips.

We work in close partnership with our sister company Iambic Creative – a consultancy that uses story building and theatre practice to support brands and businesses with their communication.
